Snow Crab and Shrimp Boil

This Snow Crab and Shrimp Boil recipe couldn't be easier or more festive. Sweet, spicy one-pot dish that can be made year round.

Ingredients
Seasoning for water
- 2 tbs Salt
- 4 tbs Old Bay Seasoning
- 2 tbs Cayenne Pepper
- 1 tbs Black Pepper
- 1 tbs Coriander Seed
- 1 tbs Mustard Seed
- 1 tbs Dill Seed
- 3 Bay Leaves
- 1 tsp Allspice
- 3-4 cloves Garlic, whole
- 1 Lemon, cut in half
Crab, Shrimp & other ingredients
- 2 lbs Snow Crab Legs
- 1 lb Shrimp, uncooked, unshelled
- 2- 3 Corn, on the cob, cut into 4 inch pieces
- 10 - 12 Baby Red Potatoes, whole
- Salt & Pepper, to taste
- Butter, 1 stick, unsalted
- 1 Lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions
Mise en place
- Mix all dry seasonings and set aside.
- Melt butter in a small saucepan.
The Boil
- Bring 6 to 8 quarts water to a rolling boil in a large stockpot.
- Add Old Bay seasoning, cayenne pepper, coriander seed, mustard seed, dill seed, bay leaves, allspice, salt & pepper, lemon, garlic, red potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Next add sweet corn to the boiling water and cook for another 5 minutes until the red potatoes are tender.
- Next add shrimp, snow crab legs and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Be sure not to over cook the crab legs and shrimp. If you follow the preparation instructions given to you at purchase, you'll be okay.
- Remove the cooked shrimp, crab legs, corn & potatoes from boiling water and arrange them onto a large serving platter.
- Sprinkle Old Bay seasoning over potatoes and corn.
- Serve with melted butter, lemon wedges and enjoy!
Notes
You can use "Zatarain's Crawfish, Shrimp & Crab Boil in Bag" instead of all the individual seasoning ingredients.
