Ingredients
Injection
- 6 oz can Pineapple Juice
- ¼ cup Honey
- 1 tbs Creole Mustard
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Garlic Salt
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
Ham
- 6 lb Ham, semi-boneless, fully cooked & NOT a spiral cut
- Soft Butter or Margarine
Instructions
Create Injection
- In a small sauce pan, heat pineapple juice, honey, mustard, black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic salt & paprika until solids are dissolved as much as possible.
- Let cool for a few minutes.
Inject the ham
- Completely cover the ham with plastic wrap to prevent liquid from spraying while injecting.
- Using a turkey injector, inject at least ¾ of the flavored-injection liquid into various areas of the ham and reserve the other ¼ for basting.
Rub it with butter
- Remove the plastic wrap and generously rub butter or margarine all over the ham.
Bake the ham
- Cover the ham with aluminum foil and bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes per pound or until internal temperature reaches 140 degrees.
- After about 1½ hours, remove foil and you can baste the ham once or twice, if you desire.
- After ham has reached 140 degrees internal temperature, remove from oven and let rest 10 minutes before cutting.
